Stephen Chen is an investment professional and corporate turnaround specialist.
He is a Director at Linx Industries, an investment firm with holdings both domestically and internationally in real estate, transportation, energy, and luxury services. He is also a Director at RenuVolt Technologies, the only company that can rejuvenate industrial batteries. Additionally, he is an adjunct lecturer at the City University of New York. Previously, he lead the Emerging Markets Investment Banking team at Oppenheimer of North America, where the firm advised on $6 billion in aggregate transactions. In particular, he worked closely with Foreign Direct Investments to accelerate economic growth in the Central Europe, MENA, and Asia regions. Prior to Oppenheimer, Stephen was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan and before that, he was a Vice President at Bear Stearns. He is additionally the cofounder of the social enterprise GreenSoul Shoes.
Stephen's work has been covered by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Fox News, ABC, and NBC. He has spoken at Yale, Brown, NYU, and Columbia University and is the recipient of the Orphans International Global Citizenship Award, the Dragon 100 Fellowship, and the C.V. Starr Fellowship. His work has been profiled in two books, "Luck Does Not Exist" by Mario Calabresi and "Inspired!" by Vik Venkatraman. He is a member of the New York Investment Network and a business plan judge for the Queens Economic Development Corporation, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), and the Unreasonable Institute.
Stephen was educated at the NYU School of International Business & Finance and the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Brown University.
